Privacy Policy

Last updated:

In one sentence: The Living Word Bible does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It is a fully offline application.

This Privacy Policy describes how The Living Word Bible (the "App") handles information. The App is an Android Bible reading application developed and published by The Living Word Bible project (the "Developer", "we", "us"). This policy applies only to the App distributed via the Google Play Store or directly as an APK, and to no other websites, products, or services.

Personal data collected? None.

Data shared with third parties? None.

Third-party SDKs that collect data? None.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any information about you or your device. The App contains no analytics libraries, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no tracking code of any kind. No unique identifiers, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location data, contacts, files, photographs, microphone input, camera input, or usage statistics leave your device.

2. Information you provide

The App does not ask you to create an account, sign in, provide an email address, or submit any personal details. There is no form, survey, or field that transmits information off the device.

3. Data stored on your device

The App saves a small number of preferences locally on your own device so that your reading experience is preserved between sessions. These preferences never leave your device and are not accessible to us or to any third party. They include:

  • Your currently selected Bible translation.
  • Your currently selected reading font.
  • Your selected font size and line-height preset.
  • Your currently selected theme.
  • The book and chapter you were last reading.

If you uninstall the App, these locally stored preferences are removed by Android along with the App. You can also clear them at any time by clearing the App's storage in your device's system settings.

4. Permissions

The App requests only the permissions necessary for the features it offers. On modern versions of Android, some features may not require any runtime permissions at all. Where a permission is used, it is used strictly on-device and never to collect or transmit data.

  • Storage / Photos & Media — used only when you choose to save a generated wallpaper image to your device, or when you copy a Bible verse to the clipboard. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Set wallpaper — used only when you explicitly tap the "Set" button inside the wallpaper maker. The chosen image is applied directly by Android on your device.

5. Internet and network access

The App does not use the internet. It does not make network requests, does not download content, and does not communicate with any server operated by us or by any third party. All Bible translations and all features are included within the App package itself.

6. Sharing of information

Because we do not collect any information, we have nothing to share. We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer any user data to advertisers, analytics providers, business partners, or any other third parties, because no such data exists.

One narrow exception is user-initiated sharing: if you tap the Share button after selecting a verse, Android's standard share sheet will open, and the text you selected will be passed to the app you choose (for example, a messaging app or email client). That action is entirely under your control, and the destination app's own privacy policy governs what it does with the text you share.

7. Children's privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data is collected, the App is safe for users of all ages and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations by design.

8. Security

Because the App does not transmit or store any personal information off your device, there is no server-side data that could be exposed in a breach. Local preferences stored on your device are protected by Android's application sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading them.

9. Your rights

Privacy regulations such as the GDPR (European Union), the CCPA (California), and similar laws grant you rights over personal data held about you — including rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability. Because the App does not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or export. If you have any question about this, you are welcome to contact us using the details below.

10. Changes to this policy

If this Privacy Policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the App were to add an online feature — the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Contact

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the App's data practices, you may contact us at the address below.
